COLD!

-5C (23F for colonials

) outside all day today. Padlock froze shut on the garage door so I had to muck around with WD40 and eventually hot water to get the car out to go to work and when I got there the office was freezing because the heating is off over the weekend.

Normally down here in the westcountry we have the gulf stream blowing off the Atlantic to moderate the temperature a bit, so even when there's snow on the ground it doesn't get this cold. Not Impressed

Someone please turn up the thermostat on the sun!

23?? o-O haven't been to the upper midwest have you. 23 is balmy.. according to my wireless gizmo is 20 outside right now, weatherbug has it at 17F
and it's 59 F in my bedroom. we used to have it set at 68, but because of money it's at 65 and a friend of mine has hers set at 55. and she's further north. Been further north. Now Alaska? no not that brave :P DM's car would freeze in midair and the narrator would be chattering in custard.

It may not be as cold as some places, but it's more than cold enough for me!

I imagine ice on the car's wings might be a bit of a problem ...

Maybe this story will help.

I used to date an Amish girl and when she was riding with her mother in the horse drawn wagon her hands got cold and she complained to her mother. She told her to put her hands between her legs and her body heat would warm them. It worked.

The next day it was very cold and I was out riding with my little Amish girlfriend and my hands were cold and I happened to mention it so she told me to put my hands between her legs and her body heat would warm them. I did and it worked.

The next day was another freezing day and this time my nose was so cold I though it would fall off and when my little Amish gf noticed she told me to put my nose between her legs and her body heat would warm it up. Boy did that work nice.

The following day we were riding in the buggy only this time I thought I'd play a little trick on her and I told her my penis was frozen stiff.

When she got home from our ride she asked her mother if she knew anything about a penis and her mother asked her why. She told her mother that she found out when a frozen penis thaws out it makes a mess.

I imagine it's like drinking beer or hard lemonade , about a year down the road your okay with 5-7 in a couple of hours but if you did it right away. don't drive

so we go from 100 F to sometimes -30 F (rare) in MN it was worse. 40-50 below and 60-70 below wind chill . got so bad one year in 95 or 96 we heard a loud bang. whoops. oh gotta cover up the hose faucet during the winter don't we. Lots of water in the basement when the pipe burst. do'h....

When I was a kid there was this other kid that had to take a dump while we were on a hike and it was bitter cold. Of course he wanted a little privacy so we started a small campfire and warmed up while he was off in the woods taking a shit. It was quite a while and he didn't return so a few of us followed his trail through the hard crusted snow and about a 100 yards down the path there he was, 2 feet up in the air sitting on a frozen turd.

Had to use the hatchet to free him and then brought him back to the fire to thaw the turd so he could wipe his ass.

I don't drink much so my friends can drink me under the table. Even the women. Especially the women in fact!

-7C this morning, warmed up as high as -5 by lunchtime at work though. Got to go out to a meeting this evening, which I'm not really looking forward to. Still the roads have been kept gritted so it should be OK.

got down to about 2 degrees F this morning. 16 F right now. ho hum. worse in January. start noticing ice forming beyond the storm window along the top of the window. Not quite Dr Zhivago though :P (anyone who's see the movie should know what I'm talking about, no not the freaking remake with Keira Knightly who isn't bad but the guy playing Omar's part is horrid.

yeah spend 48 hours trying to get stuff off a bad drive. usually do it on a spare computer but thats down so of course it crashed. 2 days out the window sigh
