Hi, I'm new here, impressed with the content!!
![]() ![]() when i go to the download sites obviously you can only do so many at a time, then eventually it says I must wait for a while. I have reset my router, refreshed the IP address and cleared cookies and cache, yet still most sites say my IP address has gone over the daily limit! Anyone know why this still happens even with a diff IP address! Is it related to MAC codes?! Cheers BEN |

<nerd> the MAC address is part of the link layer in IP so does not propogate beyond the local network. A website will have no idea of your computer's MAC address, your router's MAC address or the ISP's gateway MAC address. It doesn't get that far through the internet.</nerd>
Since I have a static IP address I don't know how much gap you have to leave between releasing a dynamic lease and renewing it for an ISP to allocate you a different one. Probably varies between ISPs, but you might find they are giving you the same IP address when you reconnect. |
