7zip is an alternative to WinZip. It will open zip and rar files and has lots of other features. (see blurb from their home page below) Once you download this program you'll find it easy to use and you can throw away your WinZip and Rar programs. You don't need to have two programs anymore!

You can use 7zip on any computer, including a computer in a commercial organization. You don't need to register or pay for 7zip.

The main features of 7zip

Most useful item I have is the Bulk Image Downloader, but it isn't free
Bulk Image Downloader - Download full sized images from web galleries quickly and easily. Supports most popular image host sites like flickr, imagevenue, imagefap, Google image search and more.

but it avoids the popups and also works with everything but IE I think. I just use it with Opera.
